Bridge Star Foundation is headquartered in Canada and operates its programs through a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya — the hub for every registration visit, school partnership and monitoring trip across the communities we serve.
Kenya is home to our regional office and our largest concentration of sponsored children and partner schools. It gives our field team direct, regular access to the counties we serve, strong relationships with local chiefs, school heads and community health volunteers, and the logistical base needed to run registration drives efficiently.
From Nairobi, our team coordinates outreach across multiple counties, working closely with local leadership to identify communities with the greatest concentration of out-of-school and at-risk children. As Bridge Star Foundation grows, we intend to extend this model — proven first in Kenya — to additional communities across East Africa.
Sponsorship starts long before a school fee is paid. Here is exactly how our field team finds, verifies and enrolls a child.
Our field officers begin every registration drive by meeting with the area chief, school heads and community health volunteers — the people who already know which households are struggling.
We go directly to homes flagged as potentially in need, speaking with guardians and children in person rather than relying on lists or referrals alone.
Each household's circumstances are recorded on tablets in the field — family situation, school status, and specific barriers to education — so every case can be reviewed and prioritized fairly.
We confirm a place with a partner school local to the child's home, so sponsorship doesn't mean a long, unsafe commute.
Once enrolled, each child is tracked through termly school visits and report-card checks, so support continues only where it's still needed — and adjusts where circumstances change.
Our Toronto headquarters exists to support the work happening on the ground — processing donations and sponsorships, managing donor communication, and ensuring funds reach our Nairobi office where they're needed. We report back to our Canadian donors and sponsors with regular updates on the children and communities their support has reached.
